Les Mirandes
Montmoreau is an old French village, situated in the southern Charente, almost on the edge of the Dordogne, in the heart of the Perigord Blanc. On the D10 (direction Blanzac), about fivehundred metres beyond Montmoreau, a village with all the facilities, a lovely Roman church and an old castle, you will find our beautiful manor house "Les Mirandes".
"Les Mirandes" is situated on an old Pilgrims route to Santiago de Compostella and used to be the place where Pilgrims could spend the night and have a meal. The large wooden cross in our grounds is there as a sign of this hospitality.
The location of "Les Mirandes" typifies what this area has to offer: openness, space, hospitality, peace and relaxation. At "Les Mirandes" you can enjoy the swimming pool, the orchard, wine orchard and the absolutely magnificent view. Additionally this dynamic place invites you to sporting activities such as walking, cycling, canoeing and golf.
Coming up the drive and through the large wrought iron gate, you enter a park-like environment. There are four till six rooms available, each with its own modern bathroom. The rooms are spacious, and each has its own atmosphere and character.
In the mornings we provide a delicious breakfast and if you wish, you can enjoy a dinner in the evening. The dinner is served including our own wine and coffee. As we value hospitality highly, every room has its own coffee and tea making facility.
Besides guest rooms we also have fully independent two and four person apartments available. With its breakfast/dining room, meeting area, swimming pool and a large recreation/playing field "Les Mirandes" also offers you possibilities for arranging family weekends or small conferences or retreats. In that case there's also a lounge available.
